I wanted to pick some flowers for the
apartment but the recent hot weather has ravaged
any flowers suitable for cutting.

So I made do with some ruffled fishbone
fern, variegated Pittosporum and variegated dwarf
Canna leaves, took some photos and then
realised I had lost my camera USB cable.
So unable to load those photos, here's some leaves
I prepared earlier!

I have used variegated canna, plane tree,
magnolia, ginger lily and calla lily leaves in
a collection of green glass jars and bottles.
I think they make a nice display.
Now excuse me while I turn the place upside down.

your leaves are pretty!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will find the cable :0
Hello Penny:
ReplyDeleteActually we rather like your arrangements of leaves which do, in our view, make a refreshing change from flowers all of the time. And you have grouped them so very attractively.
So pretty, great idea.
ReplyDeletevery artisitic! love the vases.

The leaves look just as lovely as some flowers and make a refreshing change.
ReplyDeleteLovely fresh foliage's,they look very elegant in your glass vases.
ReplyDeleteLet me just echo all who came before. the leaves are fabulous. As is the presentation.
ReplyDeleteAnd so refreshing in the heat ( or so I remember about heat)/
Thanks for joining in, I've been waiting for you.

Proof positive that a little zesty green can also look stunning in a vase. Thanks heavens for some leaves prepared earlier Penny. Hope you find your cable. It's so frustrating when that sort of thing happens!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. We have the opposite problem..too cold for flowers to grow. The indigenous ferns and other foliage offer a welcome reprieve during our long grey winters.
ReplyDeleteI always forget about using random foliage instead of flowers. It looks so good! I hope you found that cable :)
ReplyDeleteAnd very nice leaves they are too :) I also quite like to have just leaf and not flower in the house sometimes. Hope you found the cable.
ReplyDeleteLove the vases! Leaf arrangements rock!
ReplyDeleteYour foliage displays looks really lush and pretty. Sometimes it's nice to let the leaves take centrestage.
ReplyDeleteHi Penny ~ Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment. :o) I love your greens in vases - what a great way to add a little life and color, even if you don't have blooms. Hoping by now that you've found that cable!
ReplyDeleteA variety of leaves - what a fabulous idea! I think I will copy that. Caroline x

ReplyDeleteLovely. Hope you found the cable.

ReplyDeleteI like your idea of displaying leaves in vases. It's a refreshing change from flowers, actually. Thanks for linking to Foliage Follow-Up. Hope you'll join in next month too!
ReplyDeleteI like finding new blog's through the Foliage Follow-up! And your idea of leaf-arrangements works out really well. I hope you found your cable!
