Let me start this post by declaring that I am not the
first person to collect globes. I just happen to like
them and couldn't resist buying the first one, below
left, at an op shop. I picked up the second, the
smaller globe, shortly afterwards and have been
waiting to find a third for ages.
I finally spotted the rather more colourful globe
on the right, recently, and now that I have three,
feel content to display them together and
am happy to obsess about
something else!
I also found an old scrabble set for next to nothing,
something else I'd also had an eye out for.
I think doing things with letters might
have been done before too!
I'm sorry if this post is a little cryptic to some,
but apparently there has been a bit of unfriendly
banter about who did what first. Childish!

I know what you mean I have just been given my 8th globe (a 1960's illuminated globe) and hubby has put his foot down about anymore in this house!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDear Penny,
ReplyDeletethe globes are beautiful. The cryptic I don't understand - but if it concerns Blogland: as in real life there happen strange things.
Lovely idea - makes a great vignette!

Love your globes! Ihave a few myself:) Lewi has a lovely one in his room and we have another couple stashed away in the storage shed, waiting to be unpacked. I will be putting Lew's globe on my blog sometime soon:) x
DeleteI am smiling as I say LOVELY! I adore the colours!
ReplyDeleteThey make a perfect display, I only have one blue one but always have my eye out!
I don't read blogs as much as I would like to anymore and I don't claim to know much about style but I suspect if people only posted brand new ideas, then the Internet would be very quiet indeed! How a person can get possessive over an 'idea' is bewildering. If they didn't want to add something constructive to the photographic style dialogue of the net surely they wouldn't take the pictures and share them in the first place?
Anyway, love what you have done with your globes and can't wait to see what you spell out with your scrabble tiles!

Looks great!! I love Globes too. And maps in general. I'm smiling here too but it's because you didn't display the globes until you had 3, I do that sort of thing too:-) I like your blue dish also. And now I'm intrigued......I've obviously missed something. Mel x
ReplyDeleteHave I missed something too? Who's being mean? Your globes look lovely - and seem to be very you, amongst the travelling. xx
