Photoshop, Mermaids and a Macro Lens

As well as my quasi New Year's resolution to
become more organised and consolidate my usual
variety of lists and notebooks into one place, I'd like
to improve my photography and photoshop skills.

So, to that end I created a new blog header.
Then I deleted it and went back to the old one!

And those of you who like photography will probably
realise how expensive a good macro lens is.

I was very fortunate to be gifted an old macro
lens recently, that fits my Nikon camera.
It is so old it requires manual
setting, but I love it so far and can't wait to
spend more time experimenting!

I hope you are having a great weekend.
Stinking hot here!

  1. I think you must know lot more than me about Photoshop as I doubt I could create that header. I really like it as it's nice and cheery. Lucky you being gifted a macro lens! Nice shot of the aga as well :) I'm not sure if I ned any more lenses at the moment, maybe I should get used to using the ones I have first.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend x

Alas, we are light years behind you when it comes to photography about which we now next to nothing. But all of this sounds most exciting and we are sure that you will enjoy many happy hours experimenting. Now, a wish to be a mermaid........!!

  5. I love macro photography and your shots are lovely. The winter sun is streaming through the windows here, but I know from seeing the fire images on the TV that Australia is very very hot.

  6. dear Penny,
the header you created with Photoshop is great. And being able to get very near to an object by using a macro lense is always fascinating.
