Everyone survive Christmas?
Thankfully Christmas day in Melbourne
was cooler than it had been in the days beforehand,
so it made for a very pleasant day......
despite the usual consumption of way more food
than you really need in one 24 hour period!
I've been feeling a bit flat after the frenzy
leading up to the day, so after living with blue for
a month, I decided to inject some colour from the garden
into the apartment, to change things up a bit.
The combination of the Australian
bred rose 'Lorraine Lee', Achillea 'Terracotta'
and bright yellow Calla lily really makes me smile.
The spotted leaves of the lily make a statement
on their own!
Now with some renewed optimism, I need
to make some lists.
There are lots of plans to be made for the
coming year.......after partying at Jane's Flowers in the House!

Love the bright summery flower arrangements.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling relieved that Christmas is over. That I managed to feed everyone for 5 days without running out of food, and all appear to be satisfied and happy.
By mid January, hopefully, I will be ready to do some Spring cleaning.
The flowers are very pretty Penny. There's not a whole lot in my garden at the moment. I really need to get some new plants in.
ReplyDeleteYes, Christmas was nice but time is just flying. I ate a lot, fell asleep a lot (every day in the arvo in fact. Not sure how that will go down when I return to work) and need to get my butt in gear and get some things done.
Happy New Year to you - you sound very optomistic :)

Happy New Year! So tell me, how is 2013? Should I be looking forward to or dreading the arrival of the new in about 5 hours?
ReplyDeleteYou have a jump on me.
Thanks for inviting us over to party.
